PROVIDENCE, RI - Trade Area Systems (TAS), a leader in data-driven software solutions for retail real estate site selection and data visualization, and Planned Grocery®, a grocery location analytics data service, have formed a data partnership to give TAS’s clients access the Planned Grocery data layer through the TAS platform. Companies using Planned Grocery data on the TAS platform can optimize site locations and better understand potential competitive challenges.

“Our partnership with Planned Grocery delivers significant value to our customers,” said Bill Dakai, President of TAS. “The ability for our extensive list of grocery clients to use the Planned Grocery dataset within the same system that hosts their proprietary store and customer loyalty data allows them to quickly and accurately understand how competitor actions will affect their stores. This dataset also greatly benefits our non-grocery clients, as it identifies areas that will serve as future retail nodes.”

The Planned Grocery dataset was created by Beitz and Daigh Geographics so organizations have better access to data on planned grocery store sites, and to help companies use this data for site selection and market planning.

For retail real estate businesses, finding and tracking planned grocery locations can be difficult and time consuming. Companies do this research every day, but often the information is gathered on the "market of the moment," and the data is not kept up to date or shared throughout the organization.

The Planned Grocery dataset includes more than 3,000 locations across the United States that have some type of grocery anchored development activity, including proposed, planned, under construction and recently built locations. The data is updated almost daily and includes the status, location, opening date, square footage and information source. Each point is hand-placed on the map and is tied to a publicly available source.

"TAS is a great real estate platform," said David Beitz, Partner at Beitz and Daigh Geographics. "We are pleased to be partnering with Trade Area Systems and look forward to seeing more organizations working with the Planned Grocery data."

Both TAS and Planned Grocery will be present at the upcomingGravisite (May 1 – 3 in Clearwater Beach, FL) and ICSC RECon (May 19 – 22 in Las Vegas) industry conferences.
