eDataGolf lauches GolfingCard loyalty scheme

In launching its new 'GolfingCard' loyalty programme, the US-based electronic loyalty and gift card solutions developer, eDataGolf, has confirmed MasterCard as its preferred payment partner and Nike Golf as the programme's founding partner.

The result of three years of research, development, and test marketing, the GolfingCard loyalty scheme will have its worldwide debut in Alberta.

"We are launching here because I grew up in Edmonton and it was here that I learned to love the game," explained eDataGolf's president and founder, Terry Tietzen. "I have a lasting commitment to golf and to this province, and the GolfingCard has great potential to boost course revenue and grow the game of golf industry-wide."

The programme enables golfers to register (for free) online for a payment card and start earning incentives at participating golf courses each time the card is used to buy golf-related products and services.

"The combination of MasterCard's financial strength and Nike's brand appeal will be unbeatable in a golf market as strong as Alberta," Tietzen added.

"We appreciate partners that come to us with creative ways to reach consumers, particularly in today's cluttered market," said Dave Pillsbury, general manager for Nike Golf US.
