Delta restores Medallion perks

Virtual Check-In, curbside check-in and automated kiosks are back in use for Delta's Medallion members at many airports.

Some things at least are beginning to return to normal. Delta Airlines is resuming its SkyMiles Virtual Check-In for passengers travelling within the US on Delta's US route system. Virtual Check-In allows Medallion members to check in a variety of ways: via the delta.com website, a free-phone telephone line, wireless Palm Powered handheld computers, or Web-enabled mobile phones. Curbside check-in and automated kiosks are also back in use in most airports.

Security Medallion customers (regardless of country of residence) who have an electronic ticket and carry-on baggage can check in remotely, any time from four hours to thirty minutes before their flight. They have to show their electronic ticket receipt to airport security officers, and their bar coded Medallion membership card as their permanent boarding card and photo ID when boarding. Some airports may require additional documentation.

Delta's automated kiosks enable customers to obtain boarding passes, electronic ticket receipts, seat assignments and upgrades. A complete list of airports where the kiosks and curbside check-ins are available can be found at www.delta.com
